Fear is going to be a player in your life, but you get to decide how much.

That’s what Jim Carrey said in his 2014 commencement speech to the graduating class of Maharishi University of Management.

He said life is a series of daily decisions that are based “in either love or fear.”

That’s powerful stuff. He’s saying it’s not really the big decisions that matter so much as the small ones we make every day. And you go through your day, are you ruled by love or fear?

He says “So many of us choose our path out of fear disguised as practicality…what we really want seems impossibly out of reach and ridiculous to expect, so we never dare to ask the universe for it.”

Which is more ridiculous? To reach for your dreams and fail, or to live through each day too afraid to try?
